Contract Administration

The success of a ‘traditionally’ procured project is dependent upon the preparation, by the client’s appointed consultants and specialist organisations, of comprehensive drawings, specifications, schedules of work, reports, and the like, providing sufficient detail for the contractor to undertake the works on site in an efficient manner with minimal additional information being required during the construction phase.

The follow-through of this exercise is the effective administration of the building contract on the part of the Contract Administrator, including the issuing of instructions, notices, statements, and the like, and maintaining contact with the contractor, and the designers, throughout the construction process.
